Chin, Jaw, and Cheek Enhancements
Today’s facial implants not only enhance bone structure and overall aesthetics, but they contribute to facial balance and harmony.
Types of Facial Implants
The cheeks, chin, and jaw are the most common sites for facial implants. If any of theseareas concerns you, facial implants can improve your appearance in a variety of ways. In our clinic, we utilize 3D scan technology to capture the form of your facial skeleton. Then, base on that 3D image, we fabricate custom facial implants that precisely fit to your facial structure and harmonized with its elements.
Is your chin out of proportion with your forehead and mid-face? Does your chin appear to be small? Chin implants increase the size and projection of your chin, making it appear more as a distinct physical feature. During relatively a short procedure, Dr. Zarrabi places a chin implant through a small under chin incision.
Why get a chin implant? They:
- Strengthen a weak or recessed chin.
- Improve neck and jawline definition.
- Reduce the appearance of a double chin.
- Create a more balanced profile.
- Reduce a deep fold under the lower lip.
- Widen a small chin.
- Improve facial harmony.
When you see yourself in a picture, does your jaw appear to slope rather than angle from the ear to the chin? If you wish you had a well-defined jaw that is clearly distinct from your neck, jaw implants are similar to chin implants, contributing to facial balance. We place jaw implants through a small incision inside of mouth.
Why Get Jaw implants? They:
- Increase the width of the lower third of your face
- Achieve a square jawline
- Create a balance with other facial features
For those who have found your cheeks to be recessed or flat, cheek implants add volume and increase the projection of cheekbones.
Benefits of Cheek Implants:
- Restores lost volume
- Improves facial contours
- Enhances cheek bones
- Makes cheeks fuller
What materials are used for facial implants?
At Zarrabi MD, Facial Cosmetic and Maxillo-Facial Surgery, we use specially formed materials compatible with human tissues. Once we’ve evaluated your features and identified your cosmetic goals, we use custom made facial implants that will best meet your needs.
Am I a good candidate for a facial implant?
We will discuss your medical history and the changes you’d like during a consultation, and Dr. Zarrabi will make recommendations as to which implants would best benefit your cosmetic goals. If you decide to move forward with surgery, we will also help you choose the kind of anesthesia that would make you most comfortable and relaxed. A local anesthetic with an IV sedation is what most our patients choose, but general anesthesia is also an option if you’d prefer to be asleep. Before you come in to discuss potential surgeries, keep in mind that best candidates for cosmetic surgery:
- don’t smoke.
- are physically healthy.
- have specific ideas about what they’d like changed cosmetically.
